Research & Development
Government regulations, corporate social responsibility, a fundamental desire to be more environmentally aware - all these factors mean our industry needs to embrace change. We have a dedicated R&D team who work in conjunction with other departments to develop cost effective and energy efficient approaches to engineering challenges. In particular, the R&D team works closely with our design and plant manufacturing departments. Current projects include the development of alternative refrigerants, tri-generation, increased efficiency under floor heating systems, adsorption water chilling and heating, cooling and refrigeration integration.
In the refrigeration sector, current initiatives include:
-
CO2 refrigeration
-
Hydrocarbon refrigeration
-
Ammonia refrigeration
-
Combined Heat and Power (CHP)
In the retail sector, we have developed technology for both superstore and convenience store applications, allowing customers to run CO2 plant in transcritical mode independent of ambient conditions. This allows high quality heat reclaim and optimum energy efficiency, depending on requirements. We have also developed a modular CO2 pack system for retail applications.
Our Research & Development team can offer:
-
Bespoke pack design
-
Bespoke integrated services solutions
-
CO2 training
-
System computer modelling
-
Student secondment and sponsorship
