Food Factory Refrigeration

Space Engineering were awarded the contract to supply and install refrigeration systems for a new client in the South of England. 

The customer was extending their existing factory and fitting out a new building to form a ‘Sauce Factory’.

The Factory extension consisted of new Chilled Cold Rooms, Blast Chillers and a large Chilled Prep Area.  The new refrigeration system also encompassed the Mixing Room, WIP chiller, Pre-Bake Chiller and Packing Line.

The Space refrigeration pack runs on R449A refrigerant, with the air cooled condensing units supplied by Robert C Scutts.  The internal evaporators were manufactured by Guntner.  A new Dixell alarm system was installed with monitor / data manager fixture controllers within the Frostechnic control panels.

The new Sauce Factory consisted of a Pastry & Assembly area, Finished Goods, Goods In / Out, 2no WIP Chills and a Blast Chiller.

The Space multi Bitzer compressor refrigeration pack is running on R744 (CO₂) with an External ECO₂ Maxi Booster.   The gas cooler was manufactured by Coolers & Condensers.  A new RDM alarm monitoring system / data manger, fixture and plant controllers were supplied and installed, along with a CPC refrigerant leak detection system.

The project was completed to a high standard and allowed the smooth transition for the client into the new facility, whilst maintaining production at the existing factory.
