Our valued customer needed to replace their high GWP refrigeration equipment for their picking freezer.
As Space Engineering understand our clients needs, factoring both CAPEX and their planned operating costs, we were able to quickly assist them.
We carried out duty calculations of the existing equipment and factored in heat loads of their current working methods, factoring in potential uplifts in door movements. We provided two suitable options for our customer and they chose the four system option. Each system has a cooling capacity of 25kW. This gave the picking freezer a total room capacity of 100kW.
The compressor plant selected were packaged condensing units, housed in fully weatherproof housing. The rated capacity of the condensing units selected were at design conditions of -30 evaporating temperature and 42c saturated condensing temperature.
The packaged condensing unit has reciprocal compressors which utilise the latest control system. Each unit is housed and fitted with:
The evaporator selection option chosen was four Guntner DX type – one per system. Each evaporator is capable of 25kW of cooling with an evaporating temperature of -30c. The design temperature is -23c.
A control panel was selected to serve the requirements of the compressor, condenser, and evaporator systems (superheat and temperature control). The panel also houses the starter switch gear for the compressors, and the control and switch gear for the condenser fans. With a door mounted isolator, contactors, relays, fusing, overloads and all control items (in line with current industry specifications and standards), the control panel also includes:
