25 Year Milestone for our Innovation Manager

25 Year Milestone for our Innovation Manager

25 Mar 2026

We love these comparison photos, of our Electrical Innovation Manager, Paul Tomlinson, taken 25 years apart. Paul’s an unsung hero and definitely deserves a shout-out on his fantastic milestone this month.

When he joined us in 2001 as a Maintenance Engineer, his previous experience as an electrician proved invaluable and it wasn’t long before he became Lead Engineer for the Somerset area.

In 2018, Paul took his vast knowledge to Space Manufacturing, in Pucklechurch, where he was asked to take on the role of Electrical Design and Control Manager. Now, as Electrical Innovations Manager, Paul spends his time designing new PLC programs for controllers and travelling around the UK – helping to install, run and train engineers on our latest refrigeration plant designs.

According to Manufacturing Design Manager, Sam Clifford, Paul’s work investigating site issues and helping engineers to resolve problems can sometimes go under the radar. However, it’s crucial expertise that ultimately helps to maintain high client and end user satisfaction.

“Paul has gained a huge amount of knowledge across the CO2 systems and is always willing to help, share his thoughts and opinions, which makes him a great asset – not just to the manufacturing department, but also the business (and even the industry!) as a whole.”

On his 25 year anniversary, Paul says, “Over the years, Space Engineering Services has become an exciting, innovative plant manufacturer, with a great HR team supporting the employees with training and development. The company is also now leading the way in the UK when it comes to sustainable refrigeration system design, delivery, installation and commissioning. The industry has also evolved to be focused on energy saving and environmental impact regulation changes.

I hope to continue being part of this sector for many years to come and look forward to the new faces that appear along the way and the challenges we face in designing new systems. “The challenge” has always been the driving force for me – either the challenge of a problem to overcome or new design to conceive. That’s what keeps me interested”.

Huge congratulations to Paul ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
