ME&I Carbon Reduction Solutions for Bristol City Leap

ME&I Carbon Reduction Solutions for Bristol City Leap

24 Oct 2025

Our ME&I team has recently completed another successful project which saw the replacement of x14 pumps in basement plantroom serving chillers, AHU’s and dry air coolers.

As part of the 6 month project, new power supplies and local controls were installed. Local pipework was accurately measured, fabricated off site and installed. New pipework included new isolation valves, non-return valves, strainers and differential pressure sensors. Pipework was insulated, cladded and pumps fitted with new jackets. The pumps were then commissioned and set up to the correct flow rates to serve the new plant installed.

Bristol City Leap is a partnership between Bristol City Council and Ameresco UK to help accelerate green energy investment in the city. It’s a huge scheme. Over the next five years, BCL will deliver almost £500m into low carbon energy infrastructure, including solar, heat networks, heat pumps and other measures to help Bristol meet its carbon reduction targets.

Our ME&I team is proud to be working with long-term clients, BCL, and playing a tiny part in this initiative.
