Not satisfied with already being crowned Trainee of the Year 2019, Sidney Copus has won the gold medal in the Grand Final of the World Skills, SkillFRIDGE UK, refrigeration and air conditioning competition.
Sidney saw off seven other competitors in what is an extremely challenging competition held over three consecutive days at the NEC in Birmingham. Winning gold is a testament to Sidney’s talent and dedication which will stand him in excellent stead in the future, as he completes his apprenticeship at Bath College.
Both Allan Thomas and Matt Bell (pictured alonsgide Sidney) were at the NEC to cheer Sidney on both during the competition and as he collected his medal. Allan commented that “it’s an absolute pleasure to see Sidney win this competition, as it’s a just reward for all of his hard work. He’s a great lad”. The Engineering Board is looking forward to meeting with Sidney and celebrating his success in person.
