Space attends the House of Lords for World Refrigeration Day celebration

Lisa Keers, manufacturing director of Space Engineering Services, attended afternoon tea at the House of Lords to celebrate ‘World Refrigeration Day: The People Delivering Our Heating and Cooling Future’.

The event brought together some of the brightest talent from across the sector. The launch focused on the discussion of women’s experiences and retention within the industry.

Lisa joined Space in 2023, from a distinguished background in operations and manufacturing roles across logistics, automotive and construction. She comments:

“The highlight of our World Refrigeration Day event was hearing from eight exceptional women who spoke so passionately and honestly about their experiences in our industry. Their stories were as diverse as they were inspiring, from a young field engineer already championing the next generation of women in refrigeration, to an industry leader who challenged us to rethink how we measure success. Rather than judging a business purely on how well it has managed the demands of a busy summer, she reminded us that we should also be asking how the people who delivered that performance are doing now. It was a powerful, compassionate message that captured the spirit of the day: celebrating the contribution of women in our industry, recognising the challenges they face, and reminding us that building a stronger industry is about more than technical expertise and business performance — it is about people, opportunity and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.”
