Staff get baking for Red Nose Day

Bakers at Space Engineering Services donned their aprons to raise money for this year’s Red Nose Day, collecting a whopping £304.66 thanks to the generosity of staff.

The bake sale held at Space Engineering Services’ head office in Bristol last week was a roaring success thanks to some very talented bakers and equally enthusiastic eaters, raising £122.49 for Comic Relief. Together with other fundraising activities held at the National Operations Centre and head office, a total of £304.66 was donated to the charity which helps people living tough lives across the UK and Africa.

Space Engineering Services remains committed to supporting communities, charities and initiatives with volunteering projects and charitable donations, and has been supporting Red Nose Day for a number of years.

Thanks to the money raised by the public for Comic Relief, there are over 2,100 projects currently in funding across the UK and over 330 projects over 50 countries worldwide. Comic Relief works towards creating real, lasting change to the lives of individuals and communities, and for a just world free of poverty.

This year’s Red Nose Day raised a record £78.1million on the night and Comic Relief has raised more than £1billion since the charity was founded in 1985. This money makes a huge difference to the people and communities supported by Comic Relief both in the UK and across Africa, through the funding of wide-ranging projects including providing vaccinations to children, building schools and training teachers and supporting vulnerable street children.
